TeleBright.com this morning said an agreement signed with NBC Internet Inc.'s (NBCi) AllBusiness.com marks the first strategic alliance between a small business portal and an outsourcer of telecom comparison shopping technology.
TeleBright.com Vice President of Marketing Kristie Hughes told Washtech.com that the deal opens the doors to online telecom comparison shopping for small businesses. Hughes said it is difficult to estimate the financial impact of the revenue-sharing deal, adding it is TeleBright.com's "most significant partnership to date."
Under the terms of the 18-month alliance, the Rockville, Md.-based TeleBright.com said it will become one of the first anchor tenants on the AllBusiness.com site. TeleBright.com will be a premier provider of long distance, local, Internet dial-up, T1, DSL, bundled services and wireless sales and products to AllBusiness.com users, the company added.
Hughes said AllBusiness.com selected TeleBright.com due to its selection of providers and services, and because its service is not based on RFPs.
TeleBright.com also said the alliance signifies the arrival of online telecom shopping in the Internet marketplace.
Chet Thaker, president and CEO of TeleBright.com, said in a statement that the alliance is a milestone for his company and for the online telecom sales industry. He said small business portals now see the value in getting ahead of what he called the pending explosion of online telecom sales.
TeleBright.com added that it has signed more than ten sites to partnership agreements in eight weeks.
